LARPA and its members

The Live Action Roleplayers Association (LARPA) is a non-profit organization that exists exclusively to promote live roleplaying (LARP) around the world. LARPA does not run games, and does not promote any one system, group, or type of event. LARPA supports and promotes all live roleplaying, and LARPA members come from many different groups, backgrounds, and types of event.

LARPA promotes live roleplaying by providing schedule information to make it easier to find an event or group to participate in, and works to educate the general public.

LARPA also works to build the live roleplaying community, providing a place for everyone involved in running, organizing, promoting, or just participating in live roleplaying events to network, discuss and learn from each other. One of the principal activities of LARPA is licensure of the INTERCON name for LARP Conventions.

Opportunities for contributors

As a non sanctioning body, we prefer news, interviews and presentations of theory and practice. As a volunteer organization we prefer well written and well thought out pieces that require little to no editing work.

We will accept articles that are written in Microsoft Word, Open Office Writer, or plaintext. We prefer that images not be embedded in the document and that the document be single spaced in 12 point Times New Roman or an equivalent font. Including images for use in an article is allowed but we prefer they be in an attachment form, and if sending more than one please place them into a single .zip file format

Rights and returns

Submitted Articles become the property of LARPA and are subject to being reproduced in various formats by LARPA. The writer’s name shall be appended to the document in all reproductions. An editor’s name may be appended on future reproductions.

There is no monetary compensation for submissions nor is there any exchange of goods or services in return for the documents submitted.

LARPA reserves the right to refuse any submitted document.
